We want you to be satisfied with InkStantAI. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which you may be eligible for a refund and the process for requesting one.

1. No Money-Back Guarantee

InkStantAI provides a free tier that allows you to generate one book at no cost, so you can fully evaluate the Service before subscribing to a paid plan. Because of this free trial opportunity, we do not offer a money-back guarantee on paid subscriptions.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to test the Service and are satisfied with its capabilities.

2. Exceptions

While we generally do not offer refunds, we may provide refunds or service credits in the following circumstances:

  • Billing errors β€” if you were charged incorrectly or charged twice
  • Service outages β€” if a significant, verified service outage prevented you from using the Service for an extended period
  • Failed generation β€” if a book generation completely failed due to our system error (not due to content policy violations)

In cases of service outages or failed generations, we may offer pro-rated credits toward your next billing cycle rather than a monetary refund, at our discretion.

3. Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period
  • You retain full access to the Service and can continue generating books until the billing period ends
  • No further charges will be applied
  • Your account reverts to the Free tier when the paid period expires
  • All previously generated content remains accessible from your account

We do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a billing period (except as required by applicable law).

4. Plan Upgrades and Downgrades

Upgrades: When you upgrade your plan mid-cycle, you will be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of the current billing period. The upgrade takes effect immediately.

Downgrades: When you downgrade your plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You continue to enjoy the benefits of your current plan until then. No refund is issued for the difference.

5. Free Tier

The Free tier does not involve any payment, and therefore no refund applies. The Free tier includes one book generation at no cost.

6. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Refunds are generally not available in the following situations:

  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality (AI output quality may vary β€” see our Terms of Service). You had the opportunity to test with a free book before subscribing.
  • Account suspension or termination due to violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy
  • Change of mind after subscribing
  • Failure to cancel before automatic renewal (you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges)
  • Issues caused by your own equipment, internet connection, or third-party software
  • Rejection of your book by Amazon KDP or any other publishing platform

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at:

Include the following in your request:

  • Your account email address
  • Date of the charge
  • Reason for the refund request
  • Any relevant screenshots or details

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

8. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account suspension. We are committed to resolving billing issues fairly and promptly.

9. Regional Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to override your statutory consumer rights. If you are located in a jurisdiction that provides additional consumer protections (such as the European Union, United Kingdom, or Australia), those rights apply in addition to this policy.
